Wentworth Village Fete
Sunday 7th May 1 -5pm at The Play Park
(village hall if inclement weather)
Wentworth Fundraisers have been busy planning the Fete and have a range of fun activities to fill your afternoon. The aim of the event is to get together as a village community, celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, have fun and raise funds to support Wentworth’s amenities, which are the Playpark, Village Hall and Church.
Please bring a picnic and chairs. There will be gazebos and a marquee for shelter from ‘the weather’.
For your entertainment we have:-
Bottle Tombola
Buy a ticket and the lucky numbers will win a bottle of something.
Donations of bottles would be much appreciated. They don’t need to be alcohol.
A Snail Race

Recruit a snail from your garden and get it trained up to compete in the Grand Wentworth Coronation Derby. Hours of fun!

Scarecrow Competition
We invite residents of Wentworth to build Scarecrows in their front gardens for the week before and after the Fete. The theme is ‘Royal’ which can be interrupted as you please. Current or historic Royal Characters, or even fictional.
A prize will be awarded to the favourite one.
Judging will be by ballot at the Fete, so make sure your scarecrow is up by Sunday 30th April so everyone has had time to view it.
If anyone would like to erect a scarecrow but their gardens are not suitable maybe they would like to build one on the triangular island in the road at the top of Main Street, or by the phone box. Please contact one of the organisers.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 7th May
Contact Julie.fullerton@hotmail.co.uk if you’d like a stall or can offer donations.
