To ensure the longevity of Mepal Viaduct essential drainage improvements are planned to be completed to the structure. These works are planned to be completed over four consecutive weekend closures starting Friday 02.05.25. The working window is for the road closure to start Friday at 20:00 and re-open no later than Monday at 06:00. To accelerate the programme of works 24/7 working is planned with multiple tasks being completed concurrently. In addition to the main drainage works minor maintenance works will also be completed whilst the opportunity allows. For clarity, the road will be fully operational between the weekend closures Monday 06:00 to Friday 20:00.
A road closure is essential to ensure the safety of all and to enable the works to be completed as quickly as possible minimising overall disruption.
Advanced warning signs will be positioned on site this week and kept up to date with any necessary information. During the works a fully signed diversion route will be positioned and checked regularly.
