UPDATE – 9th May 2025 –
Please be advised these works will not start tonight nor this weekend and therefore the bridge and road will remain open. It’s likely these works will be re scheduled for four weeks time, which will be confirmed early next week and disseminated.
Following feedback with regard to Ely’s Eel festival which occurs during the first weekend of the planned closure, the decision has been made after ensuring contractor availability to delay this programme of works by one week. Therefore, the new start date and first weekend closure will be Friday 09.05.25 @ 20:00 until Monday 12.05.25 @ 06:00. The last weekend of this programme of works will be Friday 30.05.25 @ 20:00 to Monday 02.06.25 @ 06:00.
The advance notice signs advertising these works will duly be updated ASAP.
